While the "cadet captain" title typically refers to a youth leader rank within some programs, adult leadership staff in the Canadian Cadet Organizations hold commissioned officer ranks in the Cadet Organizations Administration and Training Service (COATS) branch of the Canadian Armed Forces.
Key details regarding her tenure with the Belleville program include:
  • Leadership Roles: She served as the Commanding Officer (CO) of the 608 Cadet Squadron after taking over the command in October 2017. She also spent several years serving the squadron as its Deputy Commanding Officer (DCO). [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • Retirement: Captain Russell officially retired from her long-standing service with the 608 RCACS in 2022, marked by a formal Depart with Dignity Ceremony celebrating her mentorship and dedication to local youth. [1, 2]

Berlin Wall : A Personal Journey Through History and Freedom
Christian Jaehn-Kreibaum Berlin Wall : A Personal Journey Through History and Freedom Nov. 12, 2026 5:30 p.m.

The Berlin Wall: A Personal Journey Through History and Freedom

Just one day after Remembrance Day, the Club invites you to a special presentation about the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, and the meaning of freedom.

Born in West Berlin in 1960, Rotarian/Secretary Christian Jaehn-Kreibaum grew up in a divided Germany.

He experienced the realities of the Cold War firsthand, travelling through communist East Germany to West Berlin every few years — and was there when the Berlin Wall came down in November 1989.

Now in Canada for 27 years, Christian has shared his personal story more than 40 times since 2014.

Join us on November 12 for a compelling eyewitness account of history, division, reunification, and why freedom should never be taken for granted.
