Madelyn Lamer, our current outbound Rotary Exchange Student is currently in Denmark since 'mid August.  She advises she is all settled in with her first host family.  She has two younger host sisters who she loves spending time with.  The Rotary Club there is very welcoming and she has already been to a couple of meetings.  She started school at Koge Gymnasium and is really enjoying it.  She shares classes with the same students and classes change from day to day.  She has made some friends who have helped her in class.  Denmark is really beautiful and filled with nice people.  She has fallen in love with "Hygge".  There is no direct translation, but it basically means cozy and feeling happy.  Maddy is slowly learning the language and having lots of laughs with her host family when she attempts certain words.  It took her a week to be able to say the name of her city, Koge.  Here is a photo of Madelyn proudly displaying the Canadian flag at the ARoS museum in Aarhus.
