President Shannon called past Rotary International (R.I.) President Wilf Wilkinson to the podium as representative of the R.I. Board of Trustees to recognize one of our club members, Len Kennedy, to the gold level of the Rotary Foundation. Wilf was very pleased to recognize Len in particular, with a prestigious crystal and diamond pin in the shape of doves and olive branches. Wilf was President or Rotary International when it was recognized by the District and he praised the contributions of the many members from around the world and of course, here in Belleville through the likes of Len Kennedy. Len thanked Wilf and encouraged club member to pick a goal and pursue it in the name of Rotary, if it's a worthy cause. Contributions such as this allow the work of Rotary here in Canada and around the world to continue to improve the lives of many, many people. A special recognition for Len's continued commitment to Rotary.
